Amino acid gypsum retarder is an environmentally friendly organic retarder. In the production of ceramic gypsum grouting molds, it is suitable for both manual and industrial production scenarios due to its mild and controllable retarding effect and the optimization of mold performance. The specific application features are as follows:
1. Retarding mechanism and process compatibility
The carboxyl and amino groups in amino acid molecules can be adsorbed on the surface of gypsum crystals, hindering the nucleation and growth of dihydrate gypsum crystals, thereby extending the operational time of gypsum slurry. Compared with citric acid, its retarding effect is milder, the viscosity change of the slurry is small, and the fluidity is well maintained. It can allow the slurry to fully fill the fine texture of the mother mold, especially suitable for making ceramic molds with complex patterns and thin-walled structures, reducing the problems of bubble residue and incomplete filling during the pouring process.
2. Enhance the core performance of ceramic molds
Amino acid retarders do not damage the porous network structure of gypsum, which can ensure the water absorption rate and air permeability of the mold, meeting the demand for rapid dewatering and shaping of the clay during ceramic grouting. At the same time, it can optimize the crystal arrangement, reduce the internal pores and microcracks of the mold, enhance the dry and wet strength and wear resistance of the mold, extend the cycle life of the mold, and reduce production losses.
3. Dosage control and scenario selection
Dosage range: The general addition amount is 0.05% to 0.3% of the mass of gypsum powder, and it needs to be slightly adjusted according to the type of gypsum powder (α type /β type hemihydrate gypsum) and the ambient temperature and humidity. Excessive use will slightly reduce the early strength of the mold, but it will not cause the problem of "permanent non-hardening". If the dosage is insufficient, the retarding effect will not be obvious.
Scene adaptation: When making ceramic molds in small batches by hand, amino acid retarders can be directly dissolved in water and mixed with gypsum powder, which is convenient to operate. In industrial assembly line production, it can be used in combination with water-reducing agents to further enhance the fluidity of the slurry and is suitable for automated injection processes.
4. Environmental protection and compatibility advantages
Amino acid-based retarders are biodegradable materials. There is no emission of harmful substances during their production and use, which meets the requirements of environmental protection production. At the same time, it has good compatibility with other additives in the gypsum system (such as reinforcing agents and water repellents), will not cause adverse reactions, and can collaboratively optimize the comprehensive performance of the mold.
